Quick and Easy Dinner

8/24/2015

Now that all your little ones are back in school you may not have as much time to make dinner. Here is a quick and easy dinner option. It only takes about 10 minutes to throw together. My sister and I used to love this tuna salad when we were younger.
Here is what you need:
  • Elbow macaroni
  • Sweet peas
  • Tuna
  • Mayonnaise
  • Salt&Pepper
You can add other things if you'd like.
After boiling the macaroni mix all these ingredients together to taste, serve cold and its even great for left overs!

Baking with an Audience

A little over a week ago, for some odd reason I was craving oatmeal cookies. I went to the store to get all the ingredients, got home and was too lazy to make them. The next day I waited for a good time to break out those ingredients, but every time Gavin would go to sleep he would wake up a short time later. Just yesterday I finally just decided to go with it. I had Gavin on his play mat in the kitchen, and two dogs watching. Marley and Zoey were watching Gavin while following me. And every time I would turn around I would just about trip over them. Let me just say it is very difficult to bake with a baby and two dogs. And it wasn't even worth it because all that it resulted in were horrible cookies and a big mess! They were probably the worst cookies I have ever had. They were so bad I couldn't even talk myself into taking a picture of them for you!

Shopping With a Baby

In the last 2 months I promise you I have gone grocery shopping, just not by myself. Since I have had my fiancé here to go with me he was able to push the grocery cart while I pushed the stroller with Gavin. But this past week Christian went out of town for work with little notice, leaving us no time to go to the store to stock up our pantry and refrigerator until he got back. So, I went to the store by myself thinking I wouldn't have a problem. Well Gavins car seat doesn't fit on top of the shopping cart, and that also isn't safe since it can easily fall off. Obviously I don't have four arms in order to push a shopping cart and a stroller. So, Into the shopping cart Gavin went. Until you are faced with this problem you don't realize its a problem. Gavin and his car seat took up the entire shopping cart! Leaving only enough room for dog food and water for Gavins formula. At least I know Gavin and the dogs will survive.
Later that day I was on pinterest and found the answer. The Brinxy Baby shopping cart hammock. I will let you all know how it works once it arrives!

The Hospital Stay

7/26/2015

Even though it has almost been 2 months since my stay in the hospital, I am still unable to get it out of my head! I was stuck in that hospital for 9 days.. Yes 9 long days! To start off I was supposed to be induced on June 5th, but apparently everyone else's little ones wanted to claim that day as their birthday. The hospital had no rooms, they were completely full.. Who knew that could even happen. So, the next morning I got a call that they had a room available for me, and off we went! We thought we would get to meet our little man that day, and boy were we wrong! He was being stubborn and didn't make his appearance into the world until 4AM on June 9th. We finally had our baby boy, just two more days and we would get to go home. Yep we were wrong again.. I ended up waking up to a bunch of nurses and doctors around me and being rushed to the ICU twice due to fluid in my lungs. As if once wasn't enough.. I was ready to go home after the first three days! I just wanted a real shower, to sleep in my own bed and to bring my little man home. Finally after countless chest X-rays I finally got the green light and was discharged! We were finally free! No more hospital food, no more being stuck in that little room with a crappy TV and best of all we were finally able to bring our baby boy home! I hope none of you have had to go through this, and those of you still waiting for your little one to make their appearance, I hope you have better luck than I did!
